Helping you chart out when to plant each crop for your area.
Download the PDF below to get your seed planner chart!
Page one includes what my seed chart for Zone 7 looks like this year. (Starting small as we get our new garden going after our big cross-country move. Don't be afraid to start even smaller! And also make sure to sprinkle in herbs & marigolds to ward off pests!)
Page two includes a blank chart for you to customize, with instructions on how to find your frost dates at https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates.
Page three is a notes page for you to include in your garden binder (see more on the binder below), to fillout throughout the season so you can learn and improve next year.
By placing seed packets in a binder, you can easily see what needs to be planted and when.
I have these seed storage binder pockets.
And I arrange my seeds by time of year I have to plant the seeds. For example, my onions, arugula & wild flowers are the first seeds in my binder pockets because they are planted in February. Then, my peppers and tomatoes because they go into seed starts via seed blocks in March, followed by carrots which are planted in April, etc.
I put a note in front of each seed, when it should be planted and have my Garden Planner Chart in the front binder pocket, along with a rough sketch of where I want to plant each crop, taking into consideration companion planting.
I organize this in January/February so the rest of the gardening is simple and requires little planning moving forward!
